Looking for a way to assist your community, develop skills, increase your network or simply are looking for a way to enrich your life?
Than maybe you are interested in volunteering your time for Ujima.
There are several ways Ujima works with volunteers.
The mentor programme:
Professionals share their time with one or two trainees and discuss about issues which have a direct link with employment. Topics like how to balance your family life with work, how to go about family planning, dealing with authority etc. For a three month period the mentor will meet the trainee every two weeks.
Selection Committee member:
If you have a large network and would like to assist your community or you are working for an organisation and regularly come across our target group this option might be for you. Every three months the selection committee comes together to select new trainees.
When you are not at Ujima you keep your eyes open, and when you come across someone who seems to fit the profile you refer.
If you would like to know more about volunteering please contact one of the field offices for more information.
Note: Ujima is a needs-driven organisation and therefore does not pay seating allowance. Volunteers should not expect any compensation for their time.
