To get ahead in life you need to stand on your own two feet. Ujima designed an integral training method that enables the trainees to do just that. The need of employers and the trainees are bridged in a nine month training course that equips the trainees with employable behaviour.

The training programme knows three phases:

• Orientation Phase
• Skills Centre Phase
• Job hunting Phase

The focus of Ujima lays on mindset, attitude and communication skills. Once a trainee has mastered these skills s/he will be rewarded with a certificate and proceed to the skills centre phase and go on attachment.

During the attachment phase the trainee will learn to put the theory into practise and learn new technical skills on the job. A good citizenship-module has been incorporated in this phase which enables the trainee to make informed decisions.

Most of the trainees already find long term gainful employment during their attachment. For those who need assistance in marketing themselves better to an employer receive further training on specific issues that will help them securing a job.
